Cumberland County HOME Award Helps Launch Esther’s House Recovery Housing in Camp Hill

In the episode, Jimmy Schambach, Executive Director of M28 Ministry U.S., shares how a $416,098 HOME award made it possible to purchase a four‑unit apartment building that will soon become Esther’s House — dedicated recovery housing for men and women rebuilding their lives. Jimmy explains why this matters so much: stable housing is one of the biggest barriers to long‑term sobriety. Without it, maintaining recovery, finding employment, and reuniting with family becomes incredibly difficult.

The purchase is complete — but now M28 needs the community’s help. One unit needs a full overhaul, and all four require renovations, repairs, furnishings, and safety updates before residents can move in. Every donation helps transform these apartments into dignified homes and gives someone a true second chance.
