Recovery doesn’t begin with a roof. It begins with hope. But hope needs a place to grow. We’re honored to be featured by TheBurg for sharing the story behind Esther’s House—our newest initiative providing safe, affordable housing for men and women rebuilding their lives after addiction. At M28 Ministry, we know lasting recovery requires more than treatment. It requires stability, community, and people willing to walk alongside others every step of the journey.
As Executive Director Jimmy Schambach shared: “One of the most critical pieces to achieving lasting sobriety is having an affordable, safe, stable, and welcoming place to call home.”
Every transformed life begins with someone who chooses to care and that vision has been at the heart of M28 since the beginning. As our founder and Director Emeritus Jim Schambach reminds us, our mission has always been about doing life with others—building authentic relationships that help people move from poverty, to stability, to community.
M28 Board Member Susan Ewing-Rathfon added that Esther’s House represents more than a housing project—it is an investment in restoring dignity, rebuilding lives, and creating stronger communities through compassion, partnership, and hope.
